The upcoming IPCRI Peace Education Conference will be held on Friday-Saturday, March 12-13, 2010 in the large, wooded campus of the Evangelical Lutheran School of Talitha Kumi, located above the town of Beit Jala, adjacent to Bethlehem, 12 kilometers south of Jerusalem.

The IPCRI Educational Committee seeks original papers, presentations and workshop ideas that demonstrate how new concepts, paradigms, technologies and applications are expanding and redefining the role of Peace Education. All abstracts submitted must be limited to approximately 500-words or less (approximately 2,000 characters). All information requested on this form must be provided and submitted with your abstract before your abstract will be considered. IPCRI reserves the right to reject any abstract/manuscript for failure to comply our publication guidelines.

The language for IPCRI events and its publications is English, unless otherwise noted. Submission of an abstract represents a commitment to either attend the conference or send a knowledgeable substitute who is qualified to present the material and answer questions regarding the reported work. It is the author’s/presenter’s responsibility to obtain any necessary travel visas well in advance of the event.

The upcoming IPCRI Peace Education Conference will be held on Friday-Saturday, March 12-13, 2010 in the large, wooded campus of the Evangelical Lutheran School of Talitha Kumi, located above the town of Beit Jala, adjacent to Bethlehem, 12 kilometers south of Jerusalem. Access to the school is open and safe for Israelis and Palestinians from the West Bank can enter without needing a permit from the Israeli authorities.

All participants must pre-register to the workshop by completing the form below.

Deadline for registration

The deadline for registration is March 5, 2010 at noon. If you reside in The Gaza Strip ( قطاع غزة‎ Qiṭāʿ Ġazza/Qita’ Ghazzah), the deadline for registration is February 10, 2010. No applications from Gaza will be accepted beyond this date. Please note that due to the difficulties in getting permits for Gazans, we will be calling all applicants from Gaza to verify the application and to ensure that people are intending to actually participate in the peace education workshop and not just using this as an opportunity to leave Gaza.

Workshops

All participants are strongly encouraged to conduct a workshop. The program of the conference is built and based on the workshops that are delivered by the participants.

Workshops can be lectures, discussions, films, drama, experiential, meditation, yoga and reiki, etc. Everyone can present and everyone can be a workshop facilitator.

Explanation of Payment

The price for the workshop for 2 days, including meals and participation in all program activities (without a bed at the Talitha Kumi Guest House) is 300 NIS ($70).

The price for the workshop for 2 days, including meals and participation in all program activities (with a bed at the Talitha Kumi Guest House) 350 NIS ($85).

These costs do not include any salary money for IPCRI staff who will be working hundreds of hours preparing and planning the workshop.

IPCRI has no funding for this conference. We are asking everyone to pay something. The minimum payment is 100 NIS ($25). We hope that most people will be able to cover their full expenses. We will be glad if you can pay MORE than the full cost so that we can sponsor more people who are not able to pay the full costs themselves. We would appreciate if you pay for the workshop prior to arriving to the Peace Education Workshop. It is possible to pay when you arrive to the workshop but if you pay now, we will assure your place at the workshop.
